If you have five minutes and love hummus as much as I do, then this recipe is for you. This homemade version is so delicious and in my opinion, tastes better than any restaurant or store bought hummus I've tried. I don't have a food processor, but I do have the
Magic Bullet (which I LOVE) and used it to make this recipe. You'll need a few simple ingredients:
One 14 oz. can of Garbanzo beans, drained & rinsed
2 garlic cloves, minced
3 tbsp Tahini sauce
1/4 cup olive oil OR chicken or vegetable stock (I used chicken stock)
2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
Salt to taste
Put all ingredients in food processor or Magic Bullet
Blend until smooth and creamy
Garnish with chopped parsley and paprika
Serve with pita chips, veggies or whatever you love to eat hummus with!
love hummus, I'm sure I'll love this recipe!

Mmm this sounds good. I'm Lebanese-American, but I've been trying to master the way my mother makes hummus for so long. She uses chickpeas, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, and white pepper. And as it's in the food processor, she slowly adds room temperature water until the right consistency. The problem is that she doesn't use measurements, she goes by "what tastes right". Looks like I'll never nail it!
