Maxed Out

I have to admit that it's becoming increasingly difficult to dress my growing belly.  Most of my pre-pregnancy clothes don't fit properly and it's gotten to the point where I need actual maternity clothing.  It saddened me to find that SO many of the maternity styles out there are extremely matronly and let's be honest...downright ugly.  Thanks to Pinterest, lots of online research and advice from some very stylish girlfriends, I found several maternity brands that are just my style (I'll share those brands in another post!).  One of my more affordable finds was this simple yet chic maxi dress from Old Navy (I also got the tank version here).  It's a maternity staple and I love that it can easily be taken from day to night depending on the shoes and accessories.  I decided to add a fun pop of color to my all black ensemble by wearing my purple YSL sandals which you may remember from this post a while back.

Old Navy dress, YSL "Tribute" heels (similar), Chanel clutch, F21 cuff

P.S. - Congrats to Toni W. on winning the Tala Stone tiny skull necklace giveaway!  You should have an email from me in your inbox!

  4. I completely agree with you - maternity clothes is so unflattering. I am glad I am about done with my pregnancy. You look great though. Black hides the tummy well =)

  5. You are so beautiful - somehow you've managed to only grow out front, which is so unfair! Love the shoes & how you kept everything else simple here :)

  9. Your belly is the cutest! Rosie Pope is my favorite maternity designer (although full disclosure I've never been pregnant), pricey but great for inspiration nonetheless!

  15. I think maternity clothing is awful, too. I've had luck with ON maternity in the past, but everything I've bought from there this pregnancy is suuuuper frumpy on me. Boo.

You look great - I like the bright heels!

  23. Ugh, don't you hate that stage? Moving out of your pre-preg clothing and into maternity clothing that is ugly? I was lucky to find some recycled clothing stores that had cute maternity wear, but I was extremely glad to put those clothes away once I lost some weight. That dress is amazing on you and I hope they had other colors because they are cute! <3

I actually bought most of my maternity clothes at Old Navy, Gap and H&M, but got some great non-maternity tunics and dresses at F21 !
