Creamy Parmesan and Spinach Pasta

Bow tie pasta with a spinach and a creamy Parmesan sauce?
  Yes please!  I've actually been making this dish for years and it's a hit each and every time.  The next time you want to indulge, try it.  You'll love it...I promise!

Ingredients:
 2 cups uncooked bow tie pasta
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 onion, diced
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 cup milk (I used 1%)
2 cups spinach, chopped
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese 
salt and black pepper, to taste

Directions:
Cook pasta as directed
 Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat
Add garlic and onion, and cook, stirring frequently, until onions become soft, about 2-3 minutes
Whisk in flour until lightly browned, about 1 minute
Slowly whisk in milk until slightly thickened, about 4 minutes
Add spinach and cook until wilted, about 2-3 minutes
Stir in Parmesan until melted
Add pasta and gently toss to combine
Season with salt and pepper
