Change

So, I'm going to get personal for a minute.  It's pretty obvious that I haven't been posting on my blog as frequently as I used to.  I started Casual Glamorous in 2011 as a way to channel my love for fashion.  While I still love fashion, I simply don't have the time to shoot multiple outfits posts for the week.  Nor do I have the budget to constantly buy new clothes.  Especially the clothes that I really want.  Plus, let's be honest... as much as I love my designer clothes and shoes, I'm definitely not running around in 5" Manolo's and Isabel Marant dresses everyday (although I'd certainly like to!).  We all know that lifestyles change and evolve and that's certainly been the case with me.  The past two and a half years have been the best and most challenging time of my life.  Before having a baby, people would always tell me that "being a mom is the hardest job on earth."  Boy were they right.  It's hard to fully comprehend just how hard it is until you're in it.  I truly LOVE being a mom, but wow is it tiring!  My priorities have definitely shifted and my blog has suffered in the process.

I've always said that I would stop blogging once it wasn't fun for me to do.  For the past few months, updating my blog has felt more like a chore than something fun, and I've been going back on forth on whether or not I should just stop doing it.  The truth is that deep down, I still love blogging and want to put the fun back into it.  I'm a perfectionist to a fault and I tend to put unnecessary pressure on myself when it comes to outfit posts.  There are LOTS of blogs to choose from these days, many of which are and will be better than mine.  And you what?  I'm totally OK with that.  I continue to be inspired by other bloggers and many of them gave me the inspiration to start my own.  I'm so grateful for all of my readers who have stayed with me from the beginning.  Casual Glamorous has been my little space where I can share the things I love and let's be real, I love A LOT of things!  With that being said, I've decided to take a new route and turn this into an all encompassing blog focusing on a little bit of everything.  Topics will include life, decor, baby and kids, food, beauty and of course fashion.  I'm so excited to give my blog a fresh new start and I hope all of you continue to follow along. x

  5. Love the honesty. I'm at the same place in my life/blog. I have a 7 week old, and you're right ~ hardest job in the world is an understatement. And no, designer shoes/clothes/bags are no longer a practical option. Lately I've been all about Forever 21 and Old Navy (the stuff you don't mind getting poop and spit up on). I'm making the same shift in my blog and priorities and whoever feels like joining me for the ride is more than welcome. I look forward to seeing your reality come to life on your blog :)
